Sára Kölcsey’s practice is deeply rooted in her lived experience as a woman, a mother, and a cancer survivor. She uses photography as a vital tool to process and document the profound transitions of the female body, turning personal history into a universal visual narrative.

In this presentation, she will focus on her upcoming photo book Postpartum, which explores the raw, often unspoken, and neglected realities of this period. Through this work, she examines the physical and emotional shifts of early motherhood, offering an intimate look at a transformative life stage. To provide further context to her approach of documenting resilience, Sára will also discuss her portrait series, Fight like a girl. This project features women navigating breast cancer, focusing on the strength and transformation found within the healing process.
