Kortárs építészeti örökség (hatások és inspiráció) - beszélgetés Tóth Vilmossal és Pesti Attilával
A Vajdaságba való visszatérés kettős jelentéssel bír, haza is térek, s a MMA-MMKI kutatáson keresztül újra megismerem a szűkebb hazám. Március végén Tóth Vilmossal, a MMA rendes tagjával beszélgettem Magyarkanizsán a Tisza mellett, Pesti Attilával pedig Szabadka nyüzsgő belvárosában. Két alkotó, két helyszín, egy Vajdaság. Beszélgetés (interjú) közben feltártuk a hatásokat, inspirációkat és egyre inkább körvonalalzódott bennem az, hogy mi is a kortárs kulturális örökség / kortárs építészeti örökség.

Viewpoint: contemporary ’cultural heritage’ does it exist? / Contemporary Cultural Heritage: A Case Study of Vojvodina
Vojvodina, a region characterized by cultural intermingling and shifting borders, has fostered a unique aesthetic and cultural milieu. Contemporary artists here either reject the region’s heritage-rich past and its landscape as sources of inspiration or, conversely, incorporate them into their work, thereby imbuing the concept of contemporary cultural heritage with new meaning. A fundamental question arises: does the concept of ‘contemporary cultural heritage’ even exist? How is this realized in contemporary architecture, and what is Vojvodina’s contribution to this concept? Having been part of the Habsburg Empire, two Slavic kingdoms, and two Yugoslavia, and currently
an autonomous province of the Republic of Serbia, Vojvodina offers a unique lens through which to examine this question. Cultural heritage is not merely a static artifact of the past but an evolving phenomenon intertwined with the present and future. Contemporary artists often reflect on their past, the region’s historical and cultural legacy, while offering novel interpretations. Contemporary art thus bridges the gap
between past and present, expanding the traditional concept of cultural heritage. Architecture plays a particularly significant role in shaping and transmitting cultural heritage. Situated at the crossroads of history, Vojvodina presents an exceptional opportunity to study contemporary cultural heritage. The region's inhabitants have a long tradition of adapting to diverse cultures, emphasizing diversity and tolerance. These values are reflected in contemporary art and architecture, where they acquire new meanings.
